Do you want access to it? How do you want interest paid? How much risk are you willing to take?

I deposited a similar amount into an hsbc mini cash isa just before the end of the last tax year. It has the bonus of being accessible over the internet and enableing me to transfer money from it to my account

Lend small sums (say $250 max) of it to people desperate for cash at a very high interest rate - say 10%/month and employ some "sales representatives" if you need to, to help you collect the payments. Money lending is a nice little earner.
