    sorry i have a complete blank on this atm, ive totally forgotten what to do.
    anyway...
    ammonium chloride reacts with hot aqueous sodium hydroxide, ammonia is evolved and water also formed.
    what is the ionic eqution for this reaction??

    H+ + OH- = H20

    I think its aqueous + aqueous goes to liquid

    You have NH4Cl, NaOH making NH3 and H2O

    NH4+ -> NH3 + H+
    OH- + H+ --> H2O
    Na+ + Cl- --> NaCl

    so:

    NH4+Cl- + Na+OH- -> NH3 + H2O + NaCl

    not quite...

    the Na+ ions and the Cl- ions are merely spectators - they do not do anything.

    NH4+ + OH- --> NH3 + H2O

    NH4Cl being a salt of weak base it will react with water to form H+ ions
    NH4+ + H2O----->NH3 + H3O+ dH=-ve

    The H+ reacts with OH- ions and water is formed being exothermic the ammonia evolves from the water

    I hope this helps
