God as an eternal entity is the idea that God exists outside time and is therefore separate from the cause and effect chain which exists within the constraints of time. If God exists outside time this adds more credibilty to his omniscience because he can view events simultaneously.

If God is an everlasting entity, he exists within time, although he did not have a beginning or an end. God works through history.

Either way, religious belivers believe that God existed in time regardless of whether he is eternal or everlasting.
