Does anyone know how to use Hammer - the level editor for Half-Life 2 in the Source SDK?
I'd really like to learn how to use it, but I'm finding the tutorial for it a bit useless. Then again, I'm used to everything being handed on a plate with map editors after "RED" - the editor for Red Faction. Possibly the easiest and most intuitive editor I've ever used.

If you do know how to use Hammer, please let me know as I need to pester you :p:

    Thanks

I started teaching myself how to use it a few months back but won't have time to continue until the summer. I found the following resources helpful:

    http://collective.valve-erc.com/
    http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Main_Page
    http://www.interlopers.net/index.php?page=tutorials.htm

Yup, what Bobby said. Once you get used to it, it's really easy, and very powerful with entities and I/O etc. Being able to make Custom Statics and Tex's is where maps really become original though - people get bored off the same old HL2 textures.

Actually, that site (Sourceblog) is excellent for tutorials if you're into game-art, such as myself. It's fantastic.
