Why is it starting to feel like you are forcing people to subscrobe so they can get away from them banners rather than them subbing because they want to help the site. :\

But even subs still have that line of advertisment links (Accumen Enterprise, coursework.info, some other stuff) just below that top header thingy if I remember rightly

EDIT: Just re-subbed and it appears thta that has gone. Horray!

TSR is a business entity after all - the owner will squeeze every dollar that they can out of this venture. And why not? This board serves a niche market, and if they can milk every visitor for the dollar, they probably will.

Not saying that I agree with this though.

I know Im not to bothered about it really, seeing as I dont use the forum home page.
However, all this new ad introducing is making TSR look rather like a student forum designed by students on free software and hosting sites.

What niche market? This forum is phenomenally popular... I dont think there is an 'everyone welcome' forum - specialising in ... nothing. This is about as large and powerful as forums get.

And yes, even though the actual ad isn't particularily intrusive (being on the home page) - its the principle that counts. The fact that this will continue to happen until it does become intrusive is worrying. The forum will just have this feeling of one big advertisement sooner or later.

    Yet!

I think the ad looks horrible. I used to sub, but I've recently decided not to anymore. So instead I have to look at this horrible ad that I'm never going to use? Ew.

They rejected my idea. Apparently, just having the word "CHEAT" as an inch-high hyperlink to coursework.info after every third line would be "far too subtle".

Niche market? I don't really think students are a niche market...

Yeah, why an ad in the most random of places? I've gotta agree with those above who've posted...

    Hello!

We always want your feedback! We need to keep you all happy after all.

What don't you like about the advert?

The colours? The position? The idea? All of it?

    Suggestions?

We need to fund the massive server costs somehow. What we've done so far with cost covering is great but we need to experiment to ensure TSR's existance.

    Thanks - C
