Hia, I don't take psychology, but I was wondering if anyone new of anything to do with the media that came from psychology that I could use for my media studies exam.

I'm looking for things like television acting as a hypnosis, or television restricting interaction and then making people more suggestible or somehting that might sound like that. Could anyone point me in the direction of any theories or researchers?

    Thank you lots

Theres lots of psychological research on media influences on behaviour such as aggression, I did it for my coursework. Bandura is your main man with his Bobo doll studies but theres also Parke et al, Williams, Liebert and Baron and lots of others. Try googling psychological research on media influences and you should get some relevant sites! Oh and the main theory would be the social learning theory by Bandura, which basically says that we learn our behaviour through observation of the environment, which can include the media.

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
