Sweet

I like them sweet, but I don't want someone who's going to agree with everything I say and not be his own person. That's what irritates me, is when guys are overly nice to the point where you're not sure whether it's genuine. Even if it is, it makes me feel quite uncomfortable, like he likes me more than I like him. I'd like to be more equal in a relationship.

I dunno .. I just feel like thats .. not manly  Maybe its because my dads like that and doesn't show his feelings but if a guy was really sweet and sensitive and was always there for me I would be really really turned off. My bf just now is so not like that and if he changed one day I would probably dump him. :|
Sweet and in charge occasionally. But not sickly sweet.

a man who is macho in front of his friends, but totally different when with you so you feel special. My best mates boyfriend is quite a good example of this. He is all butch and testosterone fuelled around his fellow lads, but when with her he treats her like a princess and even made her some cute cushions!!
AWWWW at the description of sophieliz's bf!!

Personally... a guy being really sweet is a turn off.. more manly/macho guys is where it's at! Except theyd have to care about me!! Just not show it in sickly sweet girly ways!

You're trying to catogarize guys into two groups.

Surely if I say; girls who are sweet but ugly OR girls who are light-hearted but sexy, I would have a hard time finding a girlfriend.

Not to mention how light-hearted I would come off as.

What type of guy do you prefer? Someone who treats you nice and is really sweet or someone who doesnt act like he totally cares and that is really .. not sweet  ?

I was talking about this with someone and we both said that its a big turn off for us when a guy is really sweet and treats us like hes really really interested. Is it just us?

Personally nice guys all the way, a guy who is sweet loving and you know cares about you. Having gone out with a guy who was a really nast piece of work I can't imagen going out with that kind of guy again.

nah...dunno about sophieliz, but what i meant was ideally he'd be very sensitive and caring, but not wear his heart on his sleeve too much (for want of a better expression) coz then i might respect him less. in other words, you wouldnt want someone who came across as a wimp.

although if i had to pick one "type" i'd pick the nice guy, as long as he has his own mind and isnt weak-willed or anything. (is weak-willed a proper word?! oh well.)

I would say im a sweet and sensitve lad and it seems to get me a lot of female mates but not so much relationships. I wouldnt start acting uncaring and not senitive as its just not me

Women like you make me feel misogynistic. What's the point in a relationship, if your partner doesn't treat you well? If you don't feel loved? Isn't really caring for someone the main thing, when it comes to love/romance? Is it all about sex, or physical attraction? Why not just have a succession of one-night stands, if so? How could you care about someone, who doesn't show any signs of caring about you?

Do you also like your men to beat their chests and growl? Exactly how far do you take this whole 'badboy' lusting? Is Ian Huntley your dream man? Jesus Christ.
I always end up falling for the nice guys on nights out, who never call or get in touch, so it make you want them more. They usually turn out to be arseholes, yet I still like them. So mean, nasty guys. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen!

Christ, you say it as if you're proud of it. You want guys who don't want you? If guys are like that with women, it can be referred to as 'stalking'. How can you have any form of a relationship, if the guy musn't seem interested? Do you dump guys the minute they kiss you, because then that means they're interested?

stop encouraging them lol:biggrin:
Yeah, it makes you wonder as to how many nice guys get 'killed off'; think of the concept of 'supply and demand'.
