Wills Vs Churchill

Ok current Bristol students, a question...

Which of these two halls, Wills and Churchill, is the most "rah"? I really want to apply to Wills, but I'm worried about its reputation for snobbish, public school types. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against people who go to public school, but I've heard things about its atmosphere and stuff.

Will I fit in there? I'm from a grammar school and have no pretensions whatsoever. Is the stereotype true? (honestly!!) Pleaseeeee give me your advice guys.

Thanks xxxxxxx

Atmospheres in halls vary year by year by year. Toss a coin.

This year, churchill is more rah. But i wouldn't really fret about it.

churchill is the hall with the rep of having more students from eton than from state schools one year...

So would current Bristol students recommend Wills?

I love the hall itself, it's just the people I'm worried about!

Is it cliquey/divided, or at least more so than other halls?

Look, i know i asked similar questions before i applied to Wills (and didn't get in  ) and i don't want to be hypocritical BUT...

The whole public school, 'will i fit in?' issue is bullsh*t basically. It's a total non-issue that need not concern you in the slightest. All of the halls are incredibley well-balanced communities, containing people from all kinds of backgrounds. We don't live in the 1950s anymore. Social standing and "what your daddy does" are no long the cornerstones of people's attitudes towards others. When you arrive at Bristol what kind of school you went to will barely come up in conversation because, quite frankly, people don't care. Good school, bad school, state school, public school, poor family, rich family - everyone gets treated pretty much the same. It's personality that counts at Uni these days.

If you want to apply to Wills, do so and forget about the class stereotypes.

Who gives a crap what school you went too. If people do they are silly and you should just ignore them. I'm applying to Wills because it is luuuurvely (and damn pretty too) and not thinking about rah-ness. Go where you like, not where you think the most state people will be/or vice versa.
Yeah, I'm definitely applying there as well. Haven't written my letter of suck-upage to 'Donald" yet but I probably will do. Hope 2 see some of you guys there!

Who else here is applying there?
