Does anyone else think it is utterly devoid of meaning, spent doing pointless and mundane things, coloured with misery and completely worthless? Does anyone just wish that they didn't wake up again each morning and can't wait to get life over with?

Existence has no meaning apart from what you give it (There is no reason why the universe exists, and as far as I'm concerned, life happening was just a fluke), so it's your call really.
Edit: I realise that this post was really counter productive.

No. i agree most of the things we do are pointless and mundane, but i would gladly do them because i think the good moments are worth it all. Do you think this way all the time, or are you just feeling this way now?

I understand what your saying anon. Life is sweet sometimes, but it does suck at the most of times.

you havent had a single worthwhile moment for the last year?? *hugs Anon 1*

i hope your perspective sorts itself out into something more optimistic...i don't think there is any particular meaning in life either, but thats the reason why we should enjoy it so much

    Gosh! This thread is depressing.

    What is good about life?

Music, Theatre, Love, Dancing, Singing, Conversation, Sex, Exercise, Eating, Sleeping...

Obviuosly life has it's big ups and downs, but you really do need to make the most of it!

    Very good, albeit depressing question!

Am I the only one that will stand up for life?

No but I do feel that life has no point to it. Doesn't stop me enjoying myself though.

I'm no expert but i think that you are depressed anon 1. I used to be for a while, almost suicidal, but then i started looking - actually looking - and realising the good things in life. I pointed out to myself the moments when I was happy and why it was that I was gaining pleasure from these moments... you really start to value your friends, family, the society in which you live in and all the perks that come with life. All you have to do is look!

why are a lot of the newcomers so cruel? post 32 and he tells someone that!

you do need to get help/do something because to talking to people on a chat room isn't going to solve your problems. hit them face on and bite the bullet.

    good luck!

colonel sanders hasn't anyone taught you that if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all? I know I would feel extremely guilty if i had a suicide case over my head..

Anyways to anon 1... maybe if you feel so strongly about the futility and hardships of life, perhaps you should speak to a professional because evidently some of us * ahem colonel sanders ahem * are incapable of giving apropriate advice or are simply in no position to give advice on the matter due to the lack of expertise.

please don't do anything stupid. genuinely worried bout u Sometimes things are just a pile of utter poo but there is a lot more to life. How about writing things down- i know it sounds like a cheesy idea but it might work everytime something happens and u dont feel u can cope or if its just crap then write it down using every swear word etc you can think of.
Just please please dont be sad. Ull find on here that many people feel the same so ur not on ur own.
Wishes u all the best and big hugs xxx
