To keep this short, approximately some time last month I deposited some money into my bank account.

However, today I got my bank statement and it says that the same amount of cash was debited out of my bank account (+£1 interest) last week when I clearly remember I was at home and did not use an ATM?

Does anyone know why this is? Just thought I would try on here otherwise I will call the bank.

Have you brought anything on your card? Sometimes the sale doesn't go through until a few days later when the money is actually taken out of your account.

Do you have any standing orders set up that could have taken the money out?

Check with your bank! Sometimes transactions go through late, and sometimes retailers use different names on the statment just to confuse you. They should be able to tell you more details, and if you still don't recognise it then they can escalate it so you get your money back.

It should tell you on the statement where/when the money was withdrawn and whether it was a cash machine, debit card payment, etc.
