could anyone outline some of more perceptive effects of presentational devices, for example, colours can evoke emotive responses in the reader.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is for English Lang right?

If so, then presentational devices obviously help a great deal in obtaining responses from a reader.

For example, if a headline or text is in red, what does the colour red have connotations of?

Blood? Murder? Danger? Gore?

Exactly. So the colour red evokes fear in the reader because of this.

Similarly, if an image is frightening, fear will also be inspired in the reader. [Obviously! :P]

More subtly, particular fonts can evoke emotions in a reader. If a font is very archaic, kinda medieval, then nostalgia may be prompted in a reader, as this type of font may remind them of the past.

Hope I helped!

Hi. For which paper is this? AQA GCSE? I'm sure I can help if I know precisely which paper this is for.
