hi everyone,
im currently a second year uni student in hertfordshire, i did my alevels 2 years ago and got a D in maths and a D in economics. i want to improve my grades so i have been looking for a private exam center that will do all my units but its been difficult so i hope i can get some help and you guys can suggest a few colleges as such. im able to travel to hertfordshire area and london area, any help will be appreciated.

my exam board for maths is OCR MEI C1,2,3,4 S1 D1
my exam board for economics is AQA ECON1,2,3,4

i have already found a list of private exam center for economics:

but i need some help in maths, any information would help (e.g. location, cost, how long does old modules results last etc.)

Have you asked at the school/college where you took it in the first place?
Schools often accept former students as private candidates even when they would not generally do it for other people.

Otherwise the OCR contact centre can be helpful in finding a centre:
01223 553998 or email [email protected] k

Or google - private exam centres and place like Pascals, David Game, Campbell Harris etc should come up. St Albans also comes up but very expensive

Really annoyed that it took me so long to find an OCR exam centre that would take private exam entry for external candidates. I had very little help from OCR. I called almost every school and college registered with the DFE. I eventually found Cherry Hill Tuition who specialise in OCR. I wanted to get my message out to everyone doing OCR so they don't waste as much time as i did searching for an exam centre - especially when i am supposed to be studying .
Only place I could find for OCR exams for private candidate entry that was
The Cherry Hill Tuition number is 020 8577 0088

was just a little worried, and wanted to ask something. I am doing a few exams at Cambell Harris, and two of them are psychology exams, the other two psychology exams I am doing at the college that I am currently in (the reason for me redoing the exams at a different centre- Campbell Harris, is because my college didn;t want me to resit, but I wanted to). And my question was, that since I am not cashing them in, as the college that I am currently in is certifying my whole grade, will the grades the I get at Campbell Harris count towards the overall grade that the college that I am currently in is giving me, as I have heard that they won;t even be able to see the grades that I get at Campbell Harris, so will the grades that I get from the exams done at Campbell Harris not count then?? And will they just use my old results when giving me my overall grade? I hope you understand what I mean, its a bit difficult to explain. And if my results that I get from the eams done in your centre do count towards the overall grade, and my college does put it in, will this overall grade be shown on the day that I get my results ( in August), or when I am getting my certificate (November/ October). It would be really helpfull if you gave me some information on this. And I am doing A levels.

When I was searching for an exam centre in St. Albans or anywhere nearby in Hertfordshire I came across this thread via google immediately, so just wanted to put my experience up here in case it helps anyone out! Beaumont and STAGS (St. Albans girls) both take private candidates so long as you are wanting to do the same exam board for a subject that they do. I am taking A levels in Maths via the NEC on edexcel exam board and have arranged to book all my exams at STAGS for £40 per module maximum, as opposed to St. Albans tutors who quoted me £100 per module! Call round all the schools and you'll find somewhere

Try cherry hill tuition for ocr exexcel aqa wjec exam boards. They do private candidate exam entry. I spent ages researching the best exam centre and did mine there. They were totally cheap but also easy to get to. Plus some of the staff were hot.

Hey Wilfred 0217. I think you may have made a mistake with exam centres only accepting if one year after retake. I did mine well after. The exam centres won't know when you last did it. Just give your uci number. The application forms don't request that information. I was never asked about mine. Maybe someone on the phone made a mistake. Hope that helps.

my 6 form, as im self studying maths and doing media, law and business with them. They said yes but i don't want to be to dependent on them so im looking for backup places just in case.

have you finished c1 and s1? as im planning to finish s1 this week and already finished c1, im going to then finish c2 by the begging of march.

if you want we can be peers, im wasn't a smart guy before but ive changed after getting my A/S results, now i have changed all my subjects didn't like them alot
