I used Norton Utilities (speed disk) to defragment my hard drive. After doing this, i used the analyse function on the windows defrag software, and it claims the hard drive is 80% fragmented.
Which one is correct?

Well windows and speed disk have different ways of sorting the hard drive out. Windows seems to put it with system files first and then the rest of the top line folders in alphabetical order and then the folders files in these in alphabetical order.
Speed disk on the other hand sorts the files so that the most used ones are at the beginning of the disk so that the heads have to travel as small a distance as possible so to speed things up. -

Windows defragmenter is rubbish. Disregard what it says. Diskeeper 9 is the best defragmenter there is IMO.
