I've got a pair of Sennheiser earphones that I got with my iRiver and they've served me well so far (except they don't fit in my ear properly ;_

They are ok for the money, they are exactly audiphile ones but they will sound decent. I used to have a pair of 495's and they were really hard to drive but the 497 replacement sorted it that.

I personaly prefer the Beyerdynamic sound but it all a bit matter of taste.

457's are good for open headphones I ent for the HD 212pro in the end when I bought mine as they're closed so block out pretty much all outside noise.

I have no idea what you are talking about but all I know is that I want a pair of sennheiser earphones but I'm not going to buy any until I can afford their very best ones so I could be waiting for a while.

I have a pair of PX100s, excellent when you're indoor - but unfortunately not so if you're out and about...

Sennheiser stuff tends to be used more by pro's though, meaning that really good quality ones probably cost a fortune I assume anyway, not really looked up the price myself.

At work for sennheiser lavalier mic's you are looking at like £150 for this teeny little flesh coloured thing that dies pretty easily

Yeah but cheap mics are really really awful, they pick up all sorts of unwanted vibrations and fail to pick up half the stuff you want.

I would generally use Sennheiser mics and a AKG K240 monitor headphones.

Other good headphone brands to look at: Koss (PortaPro), AKG, Grado, Beyer Dynamic, Audio Technica.

I've had these for over a year now, they have been very good

    http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...roduct_ID/1743

I paid £65 for them though, I basicaly went to a specialist and tried lots of pairs, I found these sounded the best for my £80 budget.

These are well worth looking at if you're rich

    http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...Product_ID/263

They sound wonderful but perhaps they not the best choice for rock fans.

My next pair will probably be somthing like this

Oh yes, these Sennheiser HD600's are the best I've used, with the possible exception of the Grado SR125's. They're expensive, but worth the money if you're an audiophile.
