My laptop display is getting a little bit dirty. What is your preferred method of cleaning yours?

    Many thanks in advance.

Without any solution? Would that not scratch the surface?

Yeah it may scratch the screen. I got the kit that I mentioned above after several people recommended it to me. I wouldn't want to use anything other than proper screen cleaners just incase it does scratch the screen.

Wouldnt that leave some kind of resiude on the screen?! Also the pressing and pulling on the screen would cause additional stress and could overtime and if you were a little heavy handed case problems with the glass layers in it.

i read a thread like this somewhere before and they swore by iKlear and some people made it themselves. However, manufacterers including Apple on there website state you should only use water on the screen and not solvents.

I was surprised just how well water worked actually even after i split pineapple juice on the screen and left it to harden for a month

I think people like apple say to use water because they have people using strong solvents like acetone, alcohols, ammonia etc which arent very good for plastic and the transfers they use but on the Klearscreen bottle it says something along the lines of recommended by Dell, Apple, HP and the list goes on for ages.

I use the cloth I got with my Samsung HDTV (damped). I just to just dampen a cotton handkerchief though, and had no problems.
