Dating a girl who dates someone..

Ok, consider the following. Suppose you meet some girl (or boy, whatever) who you get along with nicely, i.e. there is some harmless flirting and teasing, but who also is dating someone (nothing serious so far/not even making out). You're casually asking her how the latest date went, and you get a "meh" response. So - after some more chit-chat - you're asking if she would like to go to, say, the movies together, to which she agrees.

Now, would any of you do that without having some minor interest in the person who is asking you? The more appropriate question would be, would you assume that the person asking is merely interested in a friendship?

From what you say it doesn't sound like she's even interested/really dating the other guy.

You think so? The fact that she called it a date made me somewhat unsure. Since my disastrous last relationship I'm kind of lacking self-esteem, to be honest (doing my best to cover it up though, haha)
