    c) Point A = (6, -2) and C = (2,k), the distance from point A to C is 5. Find the 2 possible values of the constant k.

My answer: I used the distance formula and substituted the values for point A and C, I then solved to find k, so the 2 values were -5 and +5, is this correct? If not, what can I do to get the correct answer?

-5 is a correct value of k but +5 isn't. It sounds like you're using the right method so you may have made a mistake while factorising or something.

Hi, thanks for answering, I keep getting this when working out 20 + k^2 = 25, which would make k something weird like root 5, am I supposed to be getting this at some point?
