Is doing a joint honours like doing two degrees? watch

Is a joint honours the same amount of work as two single courses or just a small a ddition to the main subject? For example Psycholgy with Marketing

No. You will always do a total of 120 credits per year.

If you are doing a joint honours degree e.g. Psychology and Marketing, then you will spend half your time on each i.e. 60 credits of Psychology, 60 credits of Marketing.

If you are doing a major / minor degree e.g. Psychology with Marketing then you will do more of the first subject mentioned, and less of the second. This will often be a 66/33% split, or a 75/25% split.

If you're interested in doing a joint degree, really look into each department and how it will work. For example, those doing joint honours on my course weren't allowed to take certain modules the rest of us could in 2nd and 3rd year, as they didn't (and couldn't) have the appropriate pre-requisites. That annoyed a lot of people who were really looking forward to a certain module and then were told they couldn't take it, or if it clashed with another module they wanted to do in another department. Obviously though on some courses the modules change from year to year, so it's hard to pre plan.
