Programming paradigms can be thought of as what a programming language allows you to do. For example, a language may support object orientated programming or functional programming (i.e. the programming language supports these paradigms of programming).

They basically set out what a programming language will and will not support.

hmmm.. ok... its annoying how its on the syllabus but its not even mentioned the text book. :frown:

Don't let the name put you off, just think of it as something which sets out what a programming language does and does not support.

The chances of them asking something that direct are pretty low though. They will most likely ask a question to see that you understand that certain programming languages can and cannot do certain things.
