Where is the best place to look for work either in an office, a super market or doing night watchman style work?

What about council? It would be less work than supermarket, and more pay than supermarke.

some of them advertise jobs on their websites (like hsbc), but best thing to do is hand in your CV with a cover letter saying you're a student looking for a summer job etc. and they'll prob get back to you! thats what i did, and they rang me up a few weeks later offering me an interview for saturday job (even tho i'd asked for a summer one!). the great thing about it as well is that when you come back from uni vacations and stuff, you can give them a ring and they're likely to take you again cos it saves them training new people! hope that helps
