Is it worth talking to a Uni individually about the likelihood of being accepted a place even if i haven't met the criteria for the course i want?
I only say this as i know people do get accepted into their course even when they haven't met the grades needed to do originally do so, so is it worth asking?

Yes definitely ask, some unis are more lenient than others. Some unis absolutely don't accept it.
Also there's a difference between being predicted below their entry requirement and still getting an offer and getting an offer but missing the grades and still getting in. I think the latter is more likely.
