    I suppose you're one of those who's supposed to ORD in November? How'd you get 'released' then?

    No, I was supposed to ORD in mid-October. But I used all of my leave and off-in-lieus to cover the period while I'll be in Notts in mid-September.

    pfft, you know you're not supposed to be using OILs for this, right? :p: *blows the whistle* :flute:

    Blow all you want... I enlisted before Dec 2004, which means, by directive, I'm allowed to use 7 days of OILs in additional to my annual leave.

    But you're not allowed to use 'offs' in any form to go overseas. That's a clear directive regardless of your enlistment date. I'm not actually going to blow since I've got better things to do than that, but yeah, it's a point.

    Actually I think I did read somewhere that pre-Dec 2004 enlistees can use up to 7 days of their OIL to go overseas to pursue higher education. Not very sure on that, but it does sound vaguely familiar. I'm sure the GOM would have more details, if you're interested to check further!

    Hmmm really? Never heard of that. Bleah, okay, enough of NS talk! :p:

    Let's talk about diving. ;scuba;

    Or downloading of songs. Do you guys do it?

    Ok, ok, last NS statement... Yeah, I have the directive in my OA account that states that I can use the 7 days... So there. :P

    Who doesn't download songs nowadays anyway?

    *raises hand sheepishly. I DO get sent songs by friends who have given up trying to teach me HOW to, though.

    Pirates, all of us. To my defence though, if I really DO like a song, and I've heard enough of the album to make a judgement about it, I'll go out and buy it. Like the feel of a hard album, and CDs are so pretty nowadays. :p:

    Well I'm a bit of a funny guy. I don't mind downloading individual tracks off LimeWire... but I hardly dare download albums from the BitTorrent network. Just got my first album (Teddy Geiger's Underage Thinking ) from it though. :p: Where do you guys download songs from? And do you share your stuff?

    I wonder how the govt tracks pirates. Do ISPs pass on leads/information? Or do they leave it to the RIAS or other music copyright holders to do their own investigation, before passing on results to the MDA/police for prosecution?

    I buy mine from iTunes and Soundbuzz. I don't dare download anything illegally... But my friends do send me songs that I like. Ah, the joy of Gmail...

    One of the rare few who can actually resist the temptation of piracy, even if it's on a small scale.
