    what's the average wage for being a teacher and does it make a difference if you teach in private or comprhensive schools? Thanks

    It depends I believe, some public school teachers get less than those working in the comprehensives yet at the very top public schools it is likely to be significantly higher.

    Originally it was a minimum £18k starting pay as a NQT, but now it's gone up again... in Seot 2007, NQT's will get at least £20k.
