Everyone's ceasing trade with the PA.. it only makes sense for the Russians to exploit this opportunity and monopolise trade with the PA. In the process, Russia's economy grows and the PA becomes more reliant on the Russians.. this is good for political and economic reasons (from the Russians perspective).

México feels that it isn't very good for Russian relations with other countries and institutions like the EU and US, who both cut off aid with the PA.

Of course it isn't. But do the Russians really care?

China recognises the United States of America's right to cut business to the PA, but also feels that other countries should recognise Russias right to spend its money in the region also.

the KSA applauds Russia in joining us in providing aid to the Palestinians. in an ideal world, Israel would be recognised and Hamas would stop being militant, however the situation is clear. we as the leading nations of the world, cannot punish the Palestinian people for the democratic election of Hamas. without aid, the already crippled Palestinian economy will crumble and greater discontent will lead to a greater rise in extremism. it is in our interests to supply aid to cut off the fuel of disillusionment that aids the extremist groups.

Germany does not mind Russia spending its money. Yet, funding a government that seems intent upon harming others in the international community is unacceptable to Germany, and thus it must fiercly oppose it.

The PA is represented as an observer but has been inactive for a long time. Hopefully, the next SG will do something about this.

Probably not.. if he is, he's been darn inactive. And has a lot of explaining to do.

I expect you to remove him when you become SG.

For that matter, replace reps of essential/controversial countries with active and sensible members.

I don't want to turn this into a campaigning thread, but if I become SG I wouldn't like to do a complete overhaul like what happened at the beginning of MUN II, I have my own idea to cut the fat round the edges
