What to do?

Hi I'm in year 13 so literally weeks away from my exams, I'm revising loads in my room. Whenever I go downstairs my Mum is making my life hell it's just me and her in the house and I've seriously outgrown it, she finds anything to start an arguement and me staying calm talking properly just pisses her off even more.
I don't want this to effect my revision it's getting me really upset and making it hard to concentrate she's making my life hell, I don't have contact with my dad so what would you do?

Are you planning to go to uni? If so, stay in your room and study loads....you have moving out in September to work towards!

To avoid confrontation, I would aim to keep out of her way as much as possible. Spending time in the library, or revising with a friend, rather than at home, may be a well-deserved break for both of you. Is there anyone you could talk to?

I really hope it gets better for you! :hugs:

Probably you dont feel like talking to your mum to find out if there's anything she's going through atm. Im afraid my best friend is going through same thing with her dad, but her mum is there (though she does nothing). My friend is doing all her revision in public library - until it closes at 7pm at least, then she goes to Borders and places like that to work. Spends as little time at home as possible and relies on her friends support, tries to avoid her dad and the arguments. She is moving into a flat as soon as possible - she has a job atm so saving up, then she'll work full time at Pizza Hut till uni. Depends if your that desperate to move out, or if there are any other relatives or friends you could move in with.

You're been somewhat vague. How is she making your life 'hell'? What exactly does she argue about?

I hope everything works out for you

My mother was exactly the same duting my A-levels so I went aroung my Uncles house - where I revised by day and got pissed by night. It was great!

You need to focus on not allowing your circumstances to affect your future. Usually I'd quote from the poem 'Invictus' by William Ernest Henley right now, but I'll let you look it up if you're interested  - Good Luck!

I had this problem last year, my mum rules the 4th Reich, so it was pretty stressful. So instead of revising I played counterstrike source. Made for a worrying results day.

Was all ok in the end - I surpassed my offer and wasn't stressed in the exam room.

on the note of the thread.. I do hope you can sort it out but i guess the only advice is to try and be out of the house as much as poss... revise in libraries!! you've got moving out in september to look forward to so make most of revision now so as you can get there lol! xx

9 A levels :O good luck, i struggled with 4 lol, or maybe 9 exams hmm

You need to talk to your mum about how crucial the next few weeks are.

If she won't listen to you then she's clearly ridiculously irrational.

I think he/she means that they are doing 9 exams not 9 A Levels...
