SFE Payments Blocked + Name Spelt Wrong on NINO Card

Basically I signed my declaration form, SFE received it, changed my status to Approved, everything was complete and I went to Uni to ask them to confirm my attendance, they did that and I told me I'd have my loans within 3-5 days... But now all my payments (including grants) say "Blocked". I assume this because they're verifying my National Insurance but the name on my birth certificate, passport, SFE website etc is all Aidan, which is correct. But on my NINO Card its spelt Aiden. Will this be a problem? My rent was due last week and my tuition due this week, starting to get really worried :frown:

Also if my NINO turns out to be ok, how long until I can expect a payment?
Thanks.

Have you tried calling them up to find out what the problem is?

Not yet, but almost everyone says its because of my National Insurance Number.

The best thing you can do is call and ask otherwise people here won't really know.

Please call SFE and ask if you can confirm your own NINO to make sure what is on your account is correct.

There are 3 factors in which your NINO could not be verified.

1. NI number is incorrect.
2. Full name that DWP hold for you is incorrect to what is on your application. ( I believe this applies to you)
3. Date of birth is different.

You should really get this corrected with the Department for Work and Pensions. Best to go to your local JobCentre Plus with identity evidence such as passport to get this changed. I do believe they can change the name on their system immediately.
