Physicists: Do MasteringPhysics problems count towards module?

A friend said they did but then I read this:

https://www.dur.ac.uk/faculty.handbook/module_description/?module_code=PHYS1122

And at the bottom it shows:

There is no mention of MasteringPhysics for assessment. Does it count?

In my first year, we had two sets of questions with Mastering Physics:

The 'pre-lecture tests', which did not count for assessment, and we were expected to complete for each lecture

Weekly problems, most of which in first term were hosted on Mastering Physics (more and more on paper in later terms, and not at all in later years), which are 15% of a module.

So if any MP questions count for assessment, they come under "Problem exercises" on the page you linked to.

Since when have weekly problems been 15% of modules! I would have definitely taken an extra 5% free come the end of the year. :frown:

One does not simply defeat mastering physics.

It depends on your lecturers policy. Where I am it counts for 10%.

Oh, wow, the weighting of the problem exercises has increased? It seems like the retardation is propagating.
Anyway, on a typical week you will have one paper based weekly problem, and two-three MasteringPhysics problem sets. Each MasteringPhysics problem set has the same weighting as a single paper-based problem. The collections exam in January is worth six weekly problems.

Yes. The weekly problems represent 15% of the total marks.
