i don't think it matters what car a girl or guy drives but i have always considered a ford ka a very feminine car

As long as you get a dark colour coded one I think you might be able to pull it off, however I agree with them being girls cars simply because the clutch and steering is so light there is no feel to either of them.

No. They're girls cars/gay mens cars only.
Girls car no doubt, but that only because so many girls drive them and so few guys drive them and also because of the image of the street Ka. I have to say that the styling is pretty neutral and when designed it wasn't specifically aimed for women, it was just another city car. A bit off topic, but i wouldn't be surprised if Ford axed it to bring out a more up to date version to compete with the Aygo/C1/107 which all have value designed into them moreso than the Ka.

Thanks guys, yeah it would obviously be in a dark colour, with black being the most desirable.. I've seen a very dark purple one at exactly the right price at the right spec.... Comments like Ryan's though put me off it!!

Most girls who drive Ka's are fit i've noticed and all blokes are ugly.

And Ka rymes with something :p:

But seriously why a Ka?

Don't the early cars use a pushrod engine with the same block as early Escorts. I'd be more concerned about that, but then again. If they've kept it that long it means the design is solid, like how Fiat kept the FIRE engines since the Panda and Uno in the 80's

They are basicaly Fiesta MK3s with a different body, the older ones had the same 1.3 Pushrod engines as well, these were not exactly highly rated as they were late 1950's Ford Kent units but with modern stuff like fuel injection bolted on.

These engines tend to become noisy after a while i.e that classic old fiesta sound but they are extremely reliable do to their simplicity. The chasis has also stood the test of time.

I think they are great cars but I would rather buy a Fiesta 1.25 MK4 with the same money.

That engine is much much older than that, it first appeared in the 1958 Ford Anglia:biggrin:

It is no bad thing in many ways though, the only reason that engine was still been made until recently was the fact it was so reliable and a fairly decent performer. The later ones were built in Spain and are called the Valancia, these are the ones found in the KA.

The thread starter could very well be gay for all you know. I'm having a bit of trouble here differentiating between a 'gay' and a 'guy'.
Male or female...that car is cool!!

My friend is male...he has one - very cool

I can confirm that the thread starter is a guy not a gay!

gay=homo and guy=straight
NOOOO! A friend of mine, boy, has just bought this light blue one and well just no!

He had it because it was cheap and cheapish on insurance, but he says the other day he got out of it and a bloke winked at him.

I would be less concerned about whether or not they were girls' cars and more about them being generally ugly!
I always feel very vulnerable being a front seat passenger in one, it feels like there's nothing between me and the windscreen! The dashboard is nearly nonexistant

I bought mine off a bloke! He had it from new and he really didnt wanna part with it but he had to get a company car! I was like "isnt it a bit girlie for you" and he said he liked the curveness of it!!
