Campness......

Ok, recently people have been saying that i am a bit camp, like not majorly but noticably. I personally hadnt noticed until alerted by the people. I am straight and do not overly struggle to get girls (like im average in the field), yet ive become really self-conscious of myself and wondered if it will affect future prospects with girls.
Any1 offer any advice?

Nothing wrong with being slightly camp... I'm straight also but I as I'm comfortable with my sexuality I don't care if people think I'm straight, bi or even gay (Just because I wear flamboyant shirts does not mean I'm gay lol). Just ignore it.. not an issue for you at all, unless you allow it to be.

Some girls don't mind a bit of a camp guy.

And don't let it worry you - if you're being completely yourself then it's totally you. Don't change!

Cool, yeah i totally agree

Overly camp guys can get annoying quickly. A little campness works wonders on some girls though.

Reply 5

do you really care what others think you act like?

Reply 6

don't change for anyone  i have a few slightly camp friends.. absolutely nothing wrong with that, they jsut tend to dress better and be more friendly lol. although u can dres well and be v. friendly without being camp. ramble ramble..

exactly i tend to go out clubbing with gay friends and im completely straight,
i wouldnt worry to much about it
the days of lager swilling belching farting obtuse ignorant male are gone or at least rapidly dying out. women seem to prefer the more well kept guy.

not at all... in sociological terms i reckon you'd be called the Metrosexual Man!.... thats where you're concerned with fashion and appearance, grooming, in touch with feminine side, but you're heterosexual.... david beckham is a prime example o this!

describe you're campness... is it the way you talk? dress? body language?

David Beckham is a prime example of a camp little ******

You can be perfectly good looking without a) having a tan b) spending a stupid amount of time infront of the mirror c) shaving various areas of your body d) moisturising and exfoliating e) following fashion to a T etc.

Campness = not good.

I don't think campness = metrosexuality.

Reply 11

True, but theres an element of both in each.

Reply 12

Not too much. I care about what I look like. But I'm not going to act like a little bitch. Unless it gets me some action.

Basically, in my experience, metrosexuals are basically ugly little buggers who have to compensate by attempting to make themselves look perfect in every possible way using other means.

Not attractive.

And you might not act like a little bitch, but you'd sure as hell look like one.

I'm not little. I'm not ugly. But I do like buggering. There's nothing wrong with spiking your hair and caring about what you wear. Which is about as far as I take it.

I don't see why straight men are so worried about appearing to look after themselves! It's crazy!

It's a simple formula guys and it shouldn't take a gay guy to tell it to you. Short, styled hair and tight, stylish clothes.

It really depends on what sort of girl you're trying to attract though I guess.

Thats not the same as being camp/metrosexual though.

woa woa woa!!!!! you're all getting a wee bit confused..... i never said campness equalled metrosexuality..... on the contrary......... characteristics traditionally associated with gays is now been adopted by an inreasing amount of heterosexuals....... in fact it can be argued that MOST men now care about fashion, grooming and general appearance, as this is how you will attract the opposite sex!

yeh you're looking at the extreme end of Metrosexuality...... just with everything you can't generalise, and there are varying levels within the category of Metrosexuality

However, caring about your appearance, fashion etc does not = metrosexuality. There's more to it than that.
