On a serious note, I think I can honestly say I never wanted the workload of Cam, but neither could I bear the idea of settling for something easier.

I would never hope that... even if I wasn't graduating this year. I'll be studying in that dirty polytechnic town with the car factories next year.

Oxford?
If your finishing a medical degree dont you just go and be a Dr? Why do you need further studying? *Excuse my ignorance*

I'm graduating from Cambridge with a BA in medical sciences. I still have to go to clinical school for another three years before they let me loose.

:ditto: Steve.
There are time here when it can be pretty bad, and it helps to ensure that when you come up to Cam. you've built up your self-esteem. There will always be people who are considerably better than you in every area, you've gotta keep remembering that you are just as talented as they are - that's wht you got in.

It's not really like school. At school, you do the work and you can be completely happy with it and still have time off. It works the other way round at uni - you have to decide how much time off to give yourself and spend the rest of the time working.

thanks minimo...will be looking to you for that boost of confidence and support once i get there (positive thinking lol)

Well, you have the choice of either staying in Cambridge or moving to London or Oxford. I liked the sound of the Oxford clinical school the most. I also live in the South West, much closer to Oxford than to Cambridge, and two of my best friends (one from home and one from the year above in Cambridge) are medics at Oxford.
