As weird as this might sound, but im really getting into this kind of music at the moment. Songs and tunes with really heavy bass lines.. Not drum and bass as such..

Can anyone suggest any Song/Tunes with real heavy bass lines/beats?! As i have no idea what kind of artist(s) to look for.

Rush- YYZ (About 40 seconds in); Rush-A Farewell To Kings(About 1 min in)
    Yes- Sound Chaser
    Secret Machines- Sad & Lonely
    Iron Maiden- The Trooper
QOTSA- First It Giveth; A Song For The Dead
Red Hot Chilli Peppers- Coffee Shop
    Money- Pink Floyd
    RATM- Pistol Grip Pump

Bass sounds much better when listened to through high-quality headphones or speakers; I can barely hear bass through my PC speakers, yet can hear it through my Sennheisers clear as a bell, and it sounds and feels great.

These songs have pretty heavy and/or prominent bass-lines, but don't sound boomy and artificial like in dance music.

Sorry about some of the obscure suggestions, prog isn't the best genre to advise someone to listen to.

    Some dnb classics:

    'Panorama' - Chris SU
'Final Fantasy', 'Dreadlock' - Future Prophecies
'Brown Paper Bag', 'Railing' - Roni Size & Reprazent
'Twist Em Out', 'Fast Car' - Dillinja ('Fast Car' is nothing but bass)
'Grand Theft Auto 2' - Drumsound & Simon "Bassline" Smith

Okily, haven't listened to dnb for a while, but here are some old faves

    Dieselboy - The Messiah, Hostile
    Q Project - Champion Sound
Shimon & Andy C -Body Rock
)EIB( - Trick of the Light
)EIB( - Mutated (Concord Dawn remix)
    Ram Trilogy - Titan
    Autechre - Flutter
    Omni Trio - Renegade Snares
    Concord Dawn - Morning Light

    Other random electronica:
Blossom Dearie - Just One Of Those Things (Brazilian Girls Remix) ..off the Verve Remixed 3 album
    Jason Forrest - War Photographer
maybe Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons
    Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation
    Vitalic - La Rock 01
    Storm - Time To Burn

And because you need some scaryish breaks:
    Bong-Ra - Ragganaut
    Enduser - Bounty Drilla

Orrr you could get a pair of these and I guarantee that virtually anything will sound incredibly bassy.

Songs like "Hip hop" by Dead Prez also spring to mind.. do you want rap aswell?

I wish my cable for them hadn't broken, and that shipping of a new one from the US didn't involve paying $50 for shipping. *mutters bitterly*

Jadakiss - They Ain't Ready feat. Bubba Sparxx, Kiss of Death
    The Roots - Duck Down
The Coup - Get Up feat. Dead Prez, Five Million Ways To Kill A CEO
    Busta Rhymes - Holla
    Cormega - Thun & Kiko
Missy Elliott - Pass That Dutch, The Rain, Slide ..lots really
    Black Moon - Rush
Roots Manuva - Witness, Ital Visions,
    Pharoahe Monch - Agent Orange
    Mobb Deep - Shook Ones
KRS-One - What Kinda World, Sound of Da Police, Get Yourself Up
    Freddie Foxxx - Swazee
Slum Village - Raise It Up
    Non Phixion - Rock Stars
Method Man & Redman - Da Rockwilder
Mark Ronson - Here Comes The Fuzz
    Madvillian - Figaro (maybe?)
M.O.P. - Cold As Ice, Ante Up Remix
    Adam F/M.O.P. - Stand Clear
Kano & Low Deep - Get Set (Run The Road Edition)
Ill Bill - Canarsie Artie's Brigade
    Canibus - Buckingham Palace
    N.W.A - 100 Miles and Runnin

I should plough through a lot more boom-bap era rap but I grow tired.

Buuut most add some Roots Manuva dub remixes which are incredibly bass heavy, and belong with the electronica list mostly

Roots Manuva - Highest Grade Dub, Revolution 5, Styles Dub, Tears, Dreamy Days SFA Dub, The Lynch, Brand New Dub, Uk Warriors, Witness Dub ...yep the entire Dub Come Save Me Album
