Pretty good - is in same building as Stamford St Apts which is directly opposite the Waterloo Campus.

To Join Sept-July was £149 last year; and Jan-July was £99. You can get day memberships for £4.

Prices include unlimited use of gym (7am-10pm Mon-Sat and -6pm on Sun I think), and any classes you attend (martial arts, yoga, pilates, body conditioning - these each take place around twice per week I think, mainly in the evenings).

It's good enough.. free weights benches cardio machines and they do those classes [which i mostly see girls in, gonna sign up to one of those one day!!] like kickboxing, yoga etc..

a bit narrow but u get used to it.. its a cosy little place :]

i was in stamford street last year...the gym is alright. very basic. if you want to do any serious weights its rubbish. got a good number of cardio machines though, and the classes are free (although only girls ever go to them...). all in all, its cheap and really really handy for stamford street. not bad.
There is a new gym at QMU, and however good the gym at king's is, i am sure this one will be better. I have emailed QMU and they told me that as a uni of london student i can use the facilities at Queen Mary even though i am not going there. i am going to do that because my bf will be going to queens and it will give us something fun to do together.

btw this is bryans GF writing this (Joeybee), i ddin't realised he was signed in....fool.
It's the crappest gym EVER...DONT GO! its sooooo bloody tiny and its always full.

whatever . .. i went there this yr and it was fine for me! just make the most of it, its good, adequate even and its cheap! ur a student whose gna be/well shud be going out a lot, making friends, studying hard (!!!!!), and going gym to wrk off all the alcohol. lol etc ---- u wnt spend much time in ther at all so who cares!!
£250 for the year is quite expensive, that's £25-30 a month and you can join some really good private places for £40 a month... just a lil extra.

Well if I get the results this Thursday and Im lucky enough to get my first choice accomodation, then YES il be in Stamford Street  . But I must say £150 is still a bit much. Seeing as we`ll only be in uni for about 6 months...I worked out the UL gym as around £175 for term time. Considering that comes with a large gym plus swimming pool etc, and I think thats better value for money than the SS gym.

Yeah Prax ive heard loads of really good things about Stamford Street apartments, and I really really hope I do get both the grades and SS. Once I do get both (I should know by the end of the month right?!), then you bet I'll have LOADS of questions lol.

P.S

Prax, having read some of your other posts...it appears im hoping to follow in your footsteps lol. I will, God willing, be starting Law at kcl next month and then hope to follow the LLB up with an LLM at Oxbridge/LSE/UCL/KCL (basically the "Top 5") too, and then go on to the BVC ideally at ICSL. Coooool!!

Ive put SSA as first choice and Great Dover as second. But I think if i dont get my first choice then I definitely wont get my second choice because there will be loads of people who will have put GDS as first. lol my other choices...I cant even remember what I put down. Thanks Prax, il post on here on Thursday, especially if its good news :-p
