What difference does it make if you get a first with 90% at University?

Do employers and other universities ever look at how far into the First class boundary you are? So, can they differentiate between students who get 70% and 90% for example when applying for GEP medicine?

No. Edit: Your certificate will only state classification so no it wont matter.

Transcripts might be looked at for applications to post graduate study but then again if you get a first then you would have met their basic requirements (and most likely gone well beyond as most ask for a 2.1). Don't know about the course you are applying for.
