Protein Shakes

I got some protein shakes, it tastes a bit nasty, wild strawberry, it's bearable because i mix it with banana, I got a q, it says use semi skimmed milk, but i use whole milk, because it taste better, well so my brain tells me. Is there any benefit to that? Also, making the shakes is a process, are the bars just as good?

Any milk will do tbh, and use water if you want instead.

Bars are usually better in taste but come out at a higher cost.

What brand are you using? Maximusle is really expensive but have one of the best tastes on the market imo. I use www.wheyconsortium.com unflavoured. Tastes like piss but down the hatch.

Vyomax vanilla flavour. Tastes good as long as you stir to get all the lumps out. It says you's skimmed milk, I find that semi skimmed jus causes more lumpiness no biggy though. However I feel waters the best mix.

i use EAX 100% why protein, quite cheap and the banana flavour is actually drinkable, i make it with just water though.

had some really good results with it too.

myprotein flavoured stuff is some of the best i've had.

i just use unflavoured though.

"good results".. if your diet is sorted, you will, no matter what protein you use. :|

Labrada Kwik Size xxxl http://www.musclesurf.com/kwiksizexxxl.html
Yeah, the bars are more, but they take less effort, but are they just as good? I haven't looked at any brands.
Unflavoured...I don't think I could take that, would be unbearable, banana flavour is probably the most drinkable, I think after I finish this I'm just going to get the bars, 'cas I hate washing too

Doesn't really matter what milk you use.

If you use whole milk it just means you are having more calories. I use skimmed personally. Also drinking a shake after training is better than a protein bar as it is absorbed into the body easier than a bar is!

Depends what you're using the shakes for as to what you should mix it with.

Strawberry is normally the worst flavour. Promax s good in choc and vanilla but awful in strawberry. Water is great as well so you can take to uni etc without worrying about the milk warming up!

I would advise against using whole milk with your protein shake for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the shake will be quite high in fat, this is a bad idea if you are taking the protein shake and hoping to lose some excess fat, like if you were on a cutting program obviously if you are dieting you wouldn't be drinking full fat milk. Secondly, if you are keeping track of your dietry consumption, and the tub says 'use semi-skimmed' then the chances are the nutritional information on the back will be worked out on the assumption you are using semi-skimmed, therefore, if you use full fat you will not be accurately tracking your diet.

Generally I don't recommend them, a can of tuna has as much protein as a shake, its completely natural, almost as cheap, it doesnt taste as bad and for me personally I don't feel like im going to be sick for hours afterwards.

whey protein is completly natural

Apprently your not spose to eat too many cans of tuna because of the amount of mercury....
