running for weight loss?

i've heard many times that running is good for weight loss, i'm quite over weight and therefore not a good runner...but i've found this programme on the internet aimed at beginners, does it sound as though it would be good for weight loss? obviously combined with healthy eating and some other exrecise?

thanks

what if I run but I wanna gain some weights? is this not going to help and make it worse? cos Im quite good at running and enjoy it instead of doing weights in the gym - tho I do both + rowing 4km

It's good to do some cardio but if you're wanting to primarily gain weight I would try and avoid doing too much. Boring as they may be, stick at it with the resistance/weights.
