Average size of British girls?
hi just wanted to find out the clothing size of the average british girl cos i'll going over to the UK soon and would like to know how hard/easy it'd be to get clothes that fit so i can pack in advance, thanks!

thanks, but i just wanted to find out the ave height so i can find out the length of most jeans/pants.. i'm oriental, and so i'm quite petite and hence the worry
There is no average size cos a 14-16 might be a 12-14 in another shop. Has no one else noticed this?

The majority of stores carry pants in Petite, Regular & Tall. I couldn't tell you the exact lengths as each store is a bit different. My mom is 5'3" & easily buys clothes. Anyway there are plenty of places that will alter stuff for you for not very much money. I'm sure you won't have problems, the UK has a much better selection of clothes than most other countries I have visited.
I'm sure you will find something - you not been to London before? or Brighton?

do your shopping before you come. petite clothes are available but only in certain shops. another thing is that shoes out here are *alot* wider. if you have small narrow feet then it can be hard to buy shoes that fit properly.

When is the last time you went shopping? Lots of high street stores inc. topshop etc. carry a petite range or, if not, a variety of sizes. I agree about shoes though, not that it affects me and my yeti sized feet

me too, and i always find i am a size 8 in dorothy perkins and next but a 10 or 12 in topshop usually
It is pretty dumb..my mom is very petite and fairly slim..a 10-12 on average. She told me she had to buy 2 jackets in size 18 the other day. Thank god I don't shop at the same stores as her or I'd be into the 20+ sizes, despite being an average build! I know it is only a number..but I still don't like thinking I'm in a size 22, even if it's just in one store.

I've dne that before. Bought a pair of size 14 and size 16 jeans in new look at the same time! I mean what size am i??? I'd be betetr of being a 15, or 14 1/2
