BO Problemo

Since the end of last year i have been finding that my BO has getting quite bad. I have spoken to my mum about it and she says its just hormones (i'm female, 17 years old). However i'm a little concerned and extremely embarressed about it.
My personal hygene "routine" is as follows
1) I shower two times a day (once in the morning just before i put my casual cloths on, and once in the evening about 1 hour before i go bed)
2) I use Dettol soap, washing under both armpits.
3) I use Right Guard Un-Perfumed body spray, which i spray under my arms after i have had a shower
4) I shave my armpits every other day
5) i wear tops that are 'open' under the arms i.e. no long sleeve tops, only very short sleeves

What the hell could be wrong with me? I find that i sweat a lot so i was wondering whether i have blocked pores or something. I occasionally get sweat patches on my tops aswell which just makes the whole situation worse!! My best mate only showers every other day! She doesn't smell. Please help :frown:

Use a good roll on deo, like Nivea for men. Men's deos work WAY better than womens... probably cause boys smell more. Hahah. .

You need to use an anti-perspirant deodourant. This will help you stop sweating and mask the smell if you do.Also only wear 100% cotton tops, it helps your skin breathe. Mitchum is supposed to be good for problem perspiration, you can get it from Boots/Superdrug etc.

i'm no expert, but regarding the product used at stage 3, is it an antiperspirant? also, maybe you should spray it just before you go out.

Try a roll on, they work better. And if the problem continues, see your GP as Im sure they can do something about this.

Thanks Adverse Reaction

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

if you think about it too much you're more likely to get nervous/self conscious and so sweat more, try forgetting about it.
I think its probably down to you not using a good enough product.
Sprays give shyte coverage so dont bother with them.
Seriously buy a roll on, a mens one like hapa girl mentioned.
I get massive sweat patches which limits what tops i can wear which is a pain. I sweat excessively as did my father. He had over productive sweat glands or something and had an operation in his 20's to remove some or something like that. Can't remember exactly.
But just buy any good brand of roll on deoderant or anti persperant.
i think dove roll on works very well
There is a condition whereby the person sweats a lot. Whether you have it or not is beside the point, there are products you can get from chemists that help stop the sweating considerably, I'm not sure if they're healthy or not (surely they must be plugging up the pores severely)....but it might be worth a try, its called hyperhydrosis I think.

It sure is, but isn't that basically extreme sweating? I mean like if you take your shoes off and walk on floor then you leave puddles sort of sweating?
I have no experience of it so no idea how extreme it gets, but I think the products available for it might be useful in this case.

I find that is part of the problem actually. Its difficult to forget about thou.

Thanks for everyelses help.

I'll check out that stuff you mentioned black mamba cause i work in a chemist and i'll have a quiet word with the pharmacist
Cool, just remember that hyperhydrosis is the name of the condition not the product. The products usually have some awfully cheesy names like Stay-Dri. I think I made that up....google it anyways and good luck.
I'm all about the Dove powder sticks..they seem to just stop you sweating! They are called "Dove Invisible Solid Anti-Perspirant". Roll on or solid sticks give much better protection than sprays.

Rosetinted - (love the name), those dove sticks sound good. Where can you buy them from? Boots/Superdyrg?

you can't buy them in the UK :frown:
you can buy a similar version here but it smells different (not as nice) it's called 'dove original' and it's smaller and i dont like it as much....i don't think it works as well either.
i bought 4 sticks in the states 2 years ago and now they've run out :'(
have to wait till my parents send me some more over!!!
i had a similar problem, so my aunty recommended this aluminium hydroxide stuff - you can get in boots/superdrug etc - you put it on at night and it works really well - its a lot stronger than normal antiperspirants, and you can continue to use an everyday antiperspirant in the morning as usual - i use one that gives "48hour protection"
one warning though - it can bleach your pyjama tops, so be careful what you wear with it
hope this helps
