    Not sure if this is in the right forum, but could anyone tell me what the following abbrievations stand for;

    BA
    BS
    BSc
    HND
    MSc

    And any others....?

    BA = bachelor of Arts (basically degree in arts subject)
    BSc = Bachelor of science
    Msc = Masters in science (post grad course in science subject)

    A sandwich course usually has a year in the middle which you spend in industry or abroad.

    Sandwich courses are mainly for languages or subjects like engineering. The "filling" bit is usually the second or third year.

    BSc is for science - haven't seen anywhere just use S. Some med schools use BS as the "Bachelor of Surgery" part of the final qualification, which depending on where you go can be MB/BChir (what I'll get), MBBS, BMBS, MBChB etc.... different interpretations of the same thing.
