Revision Techniques

Hi am doing my A2's this summer and i am revising (admittely not enough right now), i was wondering what the best revision techinques people suggest are.

I do Physics, Maths and Design Technology.

I have the most problems in physics and maths and could really do with any advice or tips from anyone, thanks.

well i dont study any of those subjects...but from what works for me i would say do lots of past papers, cos i have found its all about exam technique. within any subject there is only so much they can ask you, so through doing past papers you begin to find trends in exams. with d and t im sure its knowledge based so make summary notes try and condense them as much as possible then get somebody possibly a friend in your class to test you then do past papers!

hope this helps

I do mainly essay based subjects, so this isn't really going to be of any help to you...but I've found that writing the essay question in a spider diagram and then putting all the main points spiking out really help, as it gives me something to expand on.

Hey, everyone learns differently, you need to work out which methods work best for you. Eg:
spider diagrams; recording things onto tape/mp3 to listen to; past papers etc
I find the best method for me is to make revision posters on A3 paper - I make them bright and colourful, then stick em all on the wall, then read over them whilst I'm drying my hair/sitting on my arse doing nothing/lyin in bed etc!! I do it mostly for Psychology where there's quite a lot of content/facts to learn. I've posted a couple of pics of a couple of my masterpieces, hehe! Omg I'm so sad!! Guess I'm just a visual learner. Good luck with your revision.

Do all the past year questions, and have them properly filed. The day before your actual exam, look through them again, and remember don't try new questions which are tough! You will lose confidence if you find that you can't do them. I don't know about Design Technology though...so can't give advice...

Dont Turn on the computer (unless printing out a past paper or using TSR during breaks  ) or watch TV for more than 15-20mins during breaks as you may get distracted.
