    umm

think of 2 ways of telling them time one has the least parts possible to tell the time, and the other has loads (thousands/millions?) of parts. both of them have 2 words but you need a word from each for the answer.

sorry if that clue gives too much away :P

Is it something really really obvious? All I can think of is, um, a clock or a sun dial? Am I anywhere near right?

    Hi. Here's a puzzle.

A house has three light switches in the attic which operate three light bulbs in the basement. These switches are arranged randomly, so that it isn't obvious which switch corresponds to which bulb. How can someone find out the corresponsion by making only one trip down to the basement from the attic?

I didn't get this one myself - someone had to tell me the answer.

take out a bulb from the basement first. then if one lights up, you know its one of the other two and which 1.

Yeah, that would work. But I should have said that you have to start in the attic and you can only go down to the basement once. You can't prepare in any way by going down to the basement first.
