Scottish Power interview

Just thought Id share my experience, it may happen to you one day too :p: ... no doubt there are a lot tougher interviews,

Applied for a summer placement,

I was asked to bring a caluculator with me to the interview, which was already enough to scare me,

It was 3 parts, first
there was an intorductory and informative chat with a cup of coffee and an
engineer ( that sounds wrong... I didnt chat to the cup of coffee), about the company and the 4 available roles, and a couple of forms to
fill about availablity to work in UK and etc.

Then on the 2nd part I was interviewed by 2 managers, 1 of the managers asked questions about me, tried to
gather what kind of a person I was and what I did in my spare time what my
targets was, and also got me to give examples about teamwork and communication skills I was involved in an etc, ( I think my gap year industrial placement helped me a lot in answering these fully), and the 2nd manager asked some theoratical questions, more about circuits and energy transport and generation.

The 3rd bit was done by an engineer on their graduate training scheme, it
included a written exam (it was meduimly hard, but I was allowed to ask any
questions I wanted to ask about) and also a practical test where I had to wire a plug (haha I thought they were joking).

all this lasted about hour and a half - 2 hrs ish

But all went fine and I got the job, the best bit I thought was it was advertised for 2nd year undergrads (Im a year 1) and there were 10 applicants and 4 places, so it wasnt really competitive...but still very happy

just thought Id share the interview technique on here...
