You should probably go to the dentist if it hurts. You don't need wisdom tooth, however if there are no problems with them it's good to keep them in case of substitution for another missing teeth in the future.

I'm having the same problem with chewing...I'm in agony every time I eat something that involves chewing :frown: I jus hope the tooth pops throught the gum soon

Sometimes it's better to pull it out coz they might violate the scructure of other teeth...
dentists usually pull 'em out with pliars, they cause lotsa pain for many peeps. dw they tend to numb yer mouth first!
It gets better, it's just like teething all over again. My wisdom teeth came through age 14/15 and the grew at 90degrees to how they are meant to and were impacted. I started getting infections as well and when i finally got round to having them out under general anathestic, one was rotten;dispite taking care of them.

Worth having them out, food doesnt get stuck or anything.

If they start giving you headaches, your glands come up - go see the dentist for an xray and to discuss having them out.

Try BONJELA!

cheers everyone
The gum might be infected. Your dentist will be able to give you some antibiotics to settle it down and advise whether you need an extraction. Sometimes the upper wisdom tooth is actually causing the problem by pressing on the gum below and irritating the lower one, upper extractions are a piece of piddle.

Sounds like you have an ulcer. Though you might not.

I got one behind my lower wisdom tooth, so whenever I tried to close my mouth it put pressure on it :frown:

Had the swollen glands thing too, drink honey and lemon, and was your mouth twice a day with mouthwash after brushing.

whats bonjela?

Im growing my wisdom teeth...they hurt like a bitch. The other day I went to the dentist because of a cavity and he said I should probably take them out in a year or two....just go to the dentist to check them out.

Bonjela is what you put on babies gums to stop them being sore. they numb the area but slides off easily...tastes good but a numb tongue isn't worth it. Ditto about the dentist remark, have em checked out, mine didn't grow up and out through the gum but like a few of my molars grew down instead (not upside down or anything) they just sank- no idea why but theyre out anyways!
