Overdose on Pill
Normally i take the pill at half ten every night and I did yesterday as normal. but this monring i woke up and i was still sleepy, i looked at the pill packet and the pill for saturday (yesterday) was still there, and panicking i took the pill. but then after i'd taken it, i realised that i'd taken the pill,but on the wrong saturday position. so now i have two pills in me. my question is then, do i take the pill again tonight at the normal time or not? and when this pack runs out what do i do? start on the next one straight away or have 7 pill free days like normal? i'm a bit confused so any help would be appreciated.

well I'm pretty cautious about the pill since I REALLY don't wont to get pregnant...so in your case I would simply consult my doctor...

Couldn't you just have the pill you mistakenly took this morning as the "Sunday" pill? Then carry on as normal on Monday eve?

i've only got 21 pills in my pack though
i've never had 28 pills before...and it's the microgynon..the green pack...get your next prescription early if can't carry on as normal with what you have left, when you get to the saturday you've taken, you might want to take the sunday and phase shift the rest of the pills if you can remember that's what you've done. if you miss one, follow the advice that comes with the pack.

let me explain.
i took the last pill of the pack which is marked saturday,and then took this week's saturday.so i've taken two. now i have about two weeks worth of pills left.which is ok.so what happens when i reach the last pill of the pack? do i take the next pack without a break? or do i take the break?
erm, have you tried reading the instructions? for your specific pill.
they're normally fairly comprehensive.
& mine has Idiot's Guide-style instructions for what to do having missed/over dosed - because it depends on the timing/day of cycle you're on as to whether you have to run on/use extra contraception for the next 7 days etc.

I don't think you need to worry too much. it's not really an overdose seeing as if you miss a pill and realise within 12 hours, you could take 2 pills in one day.
Bit difficult to explain..but is the pill you took this morning going to be within 12 hours of when you would take it tonight? Could you just count this morning's pill as tonight's pill? (as someone else said) Are you sexually active right now? because if not, I think you should count this morning's pill as tonights, and then be safe and not have sex/use another form of contraception for 7 days.
I'm no expert though so a call to NHS direct might be a good idea!

yeh i'm sexually active at the mo. it could count but then wouldn't it effects be wearing out by let's say 10.30am tomorrow morning.and then i'd need to change my times? and also what about the pill i took last night? i guess i'll have to call the NHS..are they open today?lol

ok well my suggestion would be just to treat is as a missed pill and use another form of contraception like condoms for 7 days. Also don't forget to take two packs together if it's the last 7 pills of your pack. (I'm on Micorgynon 30 as well)

Microgynon is so strong so if you just carry on as norm on monday you will be fine! It's not like you have missed one, you have just taken it early. I never take mine at the same time on anyone day and i'm on the lowest dose pill you can get.

COME ON PEOPLE! Better to be safe than sorry. You might just have been lucky! Surely using condoms for 7 days just in case or not having sex for 7 days isn't *that* much of a problem??
