Hmmm - how big was it?

Was it not just a clot of blood?

*I have just totally been put off my dinner by the way*

Yes it is fine to do that. Doctors generally advise it if you are going on holiday so that you don't have your period.

Argh you aren't annonymous anymore - quick change it before anyone else sees it. Unless you don't care anymore.

Maybe you had a piece of tissue stuck or something and then when you have bled it has came out

normally you can get chunks of blood coming out on the odd occasion. but still see your doc just in case.

yep, that can happen, although it's pretty rare. you need to go and see your doctor about it. A friend of mine has it - her cells just *divide* randomly and cause lumps to form [she calls it aborting every month - tasty stuff!]

Don't worry too much, just get an appointment.

I have always had this, but I've never been sure whether it's just normal. I've never mentioned it to my doctor; is it actually harmful? I assumed that they were bigger parts of the lining coming out. I don't know if this is in my head, but I would swear that I have mini "contractions" - really bad cramps - for a few hours, before I go to the toilet and find this. Maybe they are why my period pain is so bad?
