Thrush remedies

I saw in a post that you could use live yogurt as a remedy for thrush? give an example please, a brand even :p: lol.. also anyone know anyother remedies? the nurse at college told me one,but i can't remember what it is,or how it's spelt (cursive writing) all i know is it started with 'g' and she said it's stops it completely, like forever...that was the impression she gave. thanks

Any sugarless, flavourless yoghurt that has live acidophilus cultures. You can also buy acidophilus capsules and take them orally or vaginally.

Put a clove of garlic in your vagina (seriously).

Coat a tampon with lube and a few drops of tea tree oil, and use it.

If you google "yeast infections" one of the first results is a really good site with a lot about natural remedies.

Or more traditionally - use an anti-fungal cream or pessary such as Canesten which you can buy in a chemist.

Will mean your bits won't smell of garlic! ;-)

Because it contains antifungal substances that kill yeast. It's a very well known remedy...

i'd tried live yoghurt. smear it over the vulva and use the fingers to put it deep inside. any UNFLAVOURED PLAIN yoghurt eg tesco healthy living will be fine. however this makes a mess so use a panty liner with it and wash the underwear asap after or the dairy will make it stink.

however this was an emergency - the doc and chemist was closed for the weekend.

a far better option is to ask for flucuzione (or something), Canesten oral tablet or any other tablet for thrush avaliable over the counter in Boots/chemists/superdrug/probably some Tescos. dont be shy. its less messy and workis in about a day or 2

ha ha! do you just leave it there? or take it out?! I'm intrigued...
Obviously you take it out, unless you want to keep it there :s-smilie:

diffuclan tablets are good; thats the active ingredient in canestan but you may find a cheaper version that works just the same, for example asda stocks three brands, one is £5, one is £10 and one is £12, they all have exactly the same ingredients, its just the branding that is different. (although it needs to be a asda with a pharmacy not just a normal one)
