How to give up?

I am a serious adrenaline junkie, and I'm a known dare devil, and I'm normally covered in bruises and every so often get a semi serious injury. I recently broke my hand jumping off the bonnet of a car going along at 20mph, and I loved the thrill, and the adrenaline rush was wonderful.

The problem is that my friends want me to cut down, but I struggle to cut back on my thrill seeking as I've been doing it for so long, but I don't want to let my friends down by getting myself hospitalised for a stupid reason.

Can anyone suggest ways of cutting back on thrill seeking and dare devil stunts?

There is no alternative really, you could take up an extreme sport but they are dangerous anyway so you wouldn't really be making much of a change. "Adrenaline junkies" can't be satisfied by anything normal and safe and have to keep thinking of new ways to hurt themselves. Maybe there is something that appears dangerous but is really pretty safe and so you would be tricking yourself.

I snowboard most the time on dry slope, grinding and getting air and hitting crazy speeds.

And the thing bout it being cool is why it's hard to give up, I love the thrill. Jumping off cars, climbing up buildings, hanging off overhangs, the lot is just so exhilerating.

I like that idea, but I dunno if it'd work.

And it's doing a trick with a high chance of risk that is the rush, not the hurting, though it is cool graffittiying on casts

Anything that sticks out from a great height. I normally go to skyscraper roofs and hang off the top of them, off of scaffolding if possible.

like bungee jumping,
Take up knitting. It's about as extreme as it goes.
you don't need to cut down, just channel your "adrenaline addiction" into something a bit more normal/safer like boxing or parcours(hope i spelt that right)

Throw a parachute off the highest cliff you can find, wait 10 seconds, and jump after it and see if you get to it in time. Either way, you won't bother doing risky things again.
Done parcour years ago, got bored of it, though when I was doing it we called it "urban ballet" so not at all hardcore sounding!!

Oh, and btw, bungee jumping would render me parapalegic. I have spinal problems!!

I do actually like that idea, though a slight variation may be needed - a couple of seconds, and from a plane

boxing or some other martial art then. i'm sure when they shove you into a ring with some massive scary bloke there will be plenty of adrenaline:biggrin:

Martial arts would be cool, I might look into that, thanks

Boxing would result in me being in a casket - I'm 5'9 weighing 8st - feather weight all the way :p:
