Hey all

I go to Subway for lunch fairly often, now in the last few months I've noticed you now have to request cheese rather than them ask if you want it. Fair enough, asking for a Teriyaki or Meatball Marinara with cheese isn't too taxing.

However, today I went in and got a Big Beef Melt. The girl got the two beef 'strips', put them on the bread and put it in the toaster - without the cheese. "No cheese?" I asked. "You have to request it", she replied.

Now I'm not being funny, but how is it a 'Melt' without the cheese? A Big Beef Melt without the cheese ain't a ****ing Melt is it? If I wanted a beef sub with no cheese, I'd have ordered a beef sub with no cheese - it's called 'Beef'.

Apparently the only sub that has cheese as part of the ingredients is Steak and Cheese, how can a Subway Melt or Big Beef Melt not have cheese as a primary ingredient? It's a Melt.

Rant over.

Anyone else got any Subway fails?

I asked for a 6-foot by mistake, meaning a 6-inch. Guy behind the counter looked at me in shock.

It's only £5 here.

Tbh, I don't think they're that over priced. You can get a 6-inch and a drink for £3 at most places near here, and it's much nicer than all the pre-packaged sandwiches that cost pretty much the same at supermarkets.

I'm sorry but Subway is the best fast-food. I won't take into account anything you say.

This cracked me up! Imagine casually walking out of subway with 6 foot of sandwich. Carbs ahoy!

Unless you mean staff who can't speak English well enough to sell you a sandwich (which really shouldn't be that hard), why?

Basically, yeah. It's the whole call centre problem, but with sandwiches.

Haven't been to Subway since I moved away but in the different Scottish Subway branches I went to they'd ask "cheese and toasted?" every single time. I always took them up on this offer, I can't remember ever having a non-toasted sub from there.
