If you have asthma your throat tightens up and its difficult to force the air through or to take deep breaths at all.

I dont think its the throat that tightens, its those things in your lungs, you know the kind of pockets that put oxygen into the blood. Might be wrong.

hmm.
i rarely do any excersise, simply because afterwards i end up light headed, my chest hurts, and i literally bark like a dog.. it's a cough, but it's so loud and comes from so deep within my chest, i sound like a dog. that happens even if i breathe out really heavily.
i used to have night time asthma, but it cleared up. i went to the doctors about this 'bark' and he seems to think i have mild asthma. thing is, my boyfriend can make exactly the same noise, and he has quite bad asthma.

i'djust go to the doctors mate. if you have asthma, it's no biggy. just get an inhaler to calm you down.

the more exercise you do, the easier it becomes - also there's a pain barrier to pass through - every time i run i get stitch, my legs hurt and i struggle to breathe after only 10 minutes or so, but after a few minutes of that you pass into the 'zone' and it becomes easy, and you can keep going for an hour or so and do 6-10 miles at the same pace.
