Shake n Vac!!!!

yeah thats good but like leave it on for like an hour or something.

or buy some nice smelling carpet cleaner

Use something like Dettol and scrub the floor as that will eliminate the smell. If you use something like air freshner or shake and vac that will just mask the smell and the smell will eventually come back
Fabreeze (if the ads are to be believed).

Squirt loads and loads of 1001 on the area leave it for a while, then wipe it off.
Then some antibacterial spray for good measure
next comes the febreze shed loads of that.

You have to use febreze, not normal air freshener,

just go to your local shop, buy all the air freshners/odour uhm.. eliminators and use them all.

then keep your window open for a few.. uhm... decades.

if that fails, replace your carpet :P

Yeah, baking soda/bicarbonate of soda are good- if you dissolve it in water and throw it everywhere it really helps. Then lemon juice- LOTS of it....good luck- I HATE the smell....*SHUDDERS!!!*
