Joining fee £150, monthly membership £58.50
that's the standard fee, they do quite big discounts for students inc. no join fee but they don't tell people what they are

eh anyway i've decide any amount would be a tremendous waste of money, i've discovered the great outdoors and summer

No, the student rate is *******s - or at least it was when I went last year. I wouldn't recommend glassworks unless you don't mind working out amongst turkey-skinned middle-aged housewives who punctuate every single excercise by gossiping with each other across the machines.

Fenners is the place to be if you want to get big. Few people know about the powerlifting room. It's like a small dungeon- but you must do another induction session and have a spotter to use it. Girton is far out. Homerton is far out. Fenner's is the other side of Parker's piece and £30 a year.

alas for me i live on the other side of cambridge past magdalene, the glassworks is about 2 mins walk away, fenners is like half an hour's walk. and since i lost my bike i would have to walk. plus even when i had my bike, whenever i ride back from fenners my legs just kind of give out thanks to the workout, which makes for extra lethal cycling! :P anyway i'm not a real gym freak, gyms should involve free towels and riverside jacuzzis, not powerlifting rooms =P
hang on a sec, you're going to the gym to get fit yet object to walking there? :p:

i goto the gym because i'm a busy guy with stuff to do, if i had several hours a week to be walking to and from gyms I'd sack the gym in the first place and walk somewhere nice =P
